Terms of Service

Effective date: June 17, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Vigil, a Scripture-rooted reflection application operated by Vigil Interactive LLC (“Vigil,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, starting a trial, subscribing, joining a group, or otherwise using Vigil, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Vigil provides AI-assisted Christian Scripture reflection sessions, personal session libraries, user-uploaded Lens photos, AI-generated artifacts and images, and optional group and community features. Vigil is intended to support spiritual reflection and formation. It is not a substitute for pastoral care, counseling, therapy, medical advice, legal advice, or emergency support.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Vigil. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate account information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Subscriptions, Trials, Billing, and Cancellation

Vigil is offered as a paid subscription, currently $12 per month after any free trial. If you start a free trial, your payment method may be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the trial ends. Billing is processed through Stripe, and your use of Stripe checkout is subject to Stripe’s terms and policies.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund prior charges. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, payments are non-refundable after billing and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or failure to use the service.

4. Community Support Share

Vigil may allow subscribers to designate a church, ministry, school, group, creator, or community organization to receive a portion of their subscription, currently $3 per month. This support share is a feature of the service and may be changed, paused, or discontinued. Payout timing and availability may depend on payment processor rules, administrative requirements, minimum thresholds, verification, and applicable law.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, the community support share is not represented as a tax-deductible donation to the subscriber. Group leaders are responsible for providing accurate payout information and for complying with any tax, reporting, or legal obligations that apply to amounts they receive.

5. User Content and Ownership

You retain ownership of the journal entries, reflections, responses, uploaded photos, captions, and other content you create or upload to Vigil (“User Content”). By using Vigil, you grant us a limited license to store, process, display, transmit, and use your User Content only as necessary to operate, protect, improve, and provide the service.

Your private reflections are not shared with other users unless you choose to share content through a group, community feed, or similar feature. You are responsible for the content you choose to share.

6. AI-Generated Content

Vigil uses AI systems to generate reflections, prompts, artifacts, images, summaries, and related content. AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, repetitive, or not suited to your circumstances. You are responsible for evaluating and applying anything generated by the service.

AI-generated content is intended for reflection only and should not be treated as authoritative theological, pastoral, medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.

7. Groups, Community Sharing, and Conduct

Vigil includes group and community features. Group leaders may create groups, set passages, invite members, and moderate participation. Users may choose to share selected photos, captions, artifacts, or reflections. Shared content may be visible to other members of a group or community area.

You agree to follow the Community Guidelines and not to post content that is abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, illegal, spammy, deceptive, or otherwise harmful. We may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, or close groups that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

8. Prohibited Uses

  • Use Vigil for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or deceptive purposes.
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, data, or areas of the service without authorization.
  • Scrape, copy, reverse engineer, or reproduce substantial parts of the service, prompts, design, or generated systems without permission.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or compromise the security or availability of Vigil.
  • Use the service to create or share content that violates another person’s rights or privacy.

9. Intellectual Property

Vigil, including its name, design, software, prompts, structure, branding, interfaces, and underlying systems, is owned by Vigil Interactive LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the service itself.

10. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account by contacting support@christianvigil.com. Account deletion may remove or anonymize your profile, private reflections, uploaded content, and associated account data, subject to legal, security, backup, fraud-prevention, and payment-record obligations.

11. Availability and Changes

Vigil is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vigil Interactive LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vigil Interactive LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or use.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the service or by email. Continued use of Vigil after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
