Privacy Policy
Vigil Interactive LLC (“Vigil,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the private nature of spiritual reflection. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use Vigil.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
We collect information you provide when creating or managing an account, such as your name, email address, password credentials handled through our authentication provider, profile information, and subscription status.
Reflection and session content
We collect the content you create in Vigil, including journal entries, Mirror responses, Window responses, Lens captions, uploaded photos, AI-generated artifacts, AI-generated images, session history, selected passages, and saved library entries.
Group and community information
If you join or create a group, we collect group membership information, group role, group settings, shared posts, comments or captions, selected community support designation, and related participation data.
Billing information
Subscription billing is processed by Stripe. We receive information necessary to manage your subscription, such as customer identifier, subscription status, plan, trial status, and payment status. We do not store full credit card numbers.
Technical and usage information
We may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, log data, error reports, timestamps, and interactions with the service. This helps us maintain, secure, and improve Vigil.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, personalize, and maintain Vigil.
- Generate AI-assisted reflections, prompts, artifacts, and images.
- Save your sessions, photos, library entries, and preferences.
- Enable group membership, community sharing, and group support features.
- Process subscriptions, trials, cancellations, and payment status.
- Respond to support requests and account deletion requests.
- Protect the service from fraud, abuse, security threats, and policy violations.
- Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
3. AI Processing
To provide AI-generated reflections and images, portions of your session content may be sent to third-party AI providers, including Anthropic and OpenAI. These providers process content to generate responses or images requested through Vigil. We do not sell your reflection content, and we do not use your private reflection content to build advertising profiles.
You should not enter highly sensitive information that you would not want processed by third-party AI systems. AI-generated outputs may be saved in your library if you choose to save them.
4. Sharing and Visibility
Your private reflections are not shown to other users unless you choose to share content through a group, community feed, or similar feature. When you share content, it may be visible to other members of that group or community area, including your name or profile information associated with the post.
Group leaders may see group membership and certain participation information needed to manage the group. They do not automatically receive your full private reflections unless you choose to share them.
5. Service Providers
We use third-party service providers to operate Vigil, including hosting, database, authentication, file storage, payment processing, email delivery, and AI generation providers. These providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and content information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Vigil. We may retain certain information longer where necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, accounting, dispute-resolution, or compliance purposes.
7. Account Deletion and Your Choices
You may request account deletion by emailing support@christianvigil.com. You may also delete or remove certain content within the app where those controls are available. Deleting your account may remove or anonymize your profile, private reflections, uploaded photos, saved sessions, and related content, subject to reasonable technical and legal limitations.
You may cancel your subscription through the subscription management flow or by contacting support. Cancellation does not automatically delete your account or content.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No internet service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, and you are responsible for protecting your account credentials.
9. Children
Vigil is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. International Users
Vigil is operated from the United States. If you access Vigil from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the service or by email. The updated policy will be effective when posted unless stated otherwise.
12. Contact
Questions, privacy requests, or account deletion requests may be sent to support@christianvigil.com.
