Community Guidelines

Effective date: June 17, 2026

Vigil’s community spaces are meant to support reflection, attention, and spiritual formation. They are not designed for argument, performance, harassment, or public shaming. These guidelines apply to groups, community feeds, shared photos, captions, artifacts, comments, profile content, and any other shared area of Vigil.

1. Share with care

Only share what you are comfortable making visible to the group or community area where you post it. Your full reflection is private unless you choose to share something. Do not share someone else’s private information, image, story, prayer request, or personal struggle without permission.

2. Respect others

Treat other users with dignity. Do not harass, threaten, shame, intimidate, mock, or target others. Do not use Vigil to pressure others into disclosing more than they want to share.

3. No hateful or abusive content

Do not post content that attacks, dehumanizes, or promotes hatred or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected or vulnerable characteristics.

4. No explicit, exploitative, or unsafe content

Do not post sexually explicit content, exploitative content, graphic violence, self-harm instructions, illegal activity, or content that endangers minors or vulnerable people.

5. Keep groups aligned with their purpose

Group leaders may set a passage, theme, or practice for their group. Members should respect the purpose of the group. Spam, promotional posting, unrelated arguments, and repeated disruption may be removed.

6. Use discernment with AI content

AI-generated reflections, artifacts, and images may be meaningful, but they are not authoritative. If you share AI-generated content, do so humbly and responsibly. Do not present AI output as pastoral, medical, legal, or therapeutic advice.

7. Moderation

Vigil may remove content, restrict sharing, suspend accounts, or close groups that violate these guidelines or the Terms of Service. Group leaders may also moderate their own groups. Repeated violations may result in permanent removal.

8. Reporting concerns

If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, contact support@christianvigil.com. Include screenshots, links, group names, or other details that help us review the issue.

9. Emergency and crisis situations

Vigil is not an emergency service. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline. Do not rely on Vigil, AI-generated content, group leaders, or other users for emergency help.

The aim is simple: make Vigil a place where users can share what they have noticed without fear of ridicule, exploitation, or performance.
